Merry Christmas!

(My favorite Christmas Decoration!)

And the Grinch, with his Grinch-feet ice cold in the snow, stood puzzling and puzzling, how could it be so? It came without ribbons. It came without tags. It came without packages, boxes or bags. And he puzzled and puzzled ’till his puzzler was sore. Then the Grinch thought of something he hadn’t before. What if Christmas, he thought, doesn’t come from a store. What if Christmas, perhaps, means a little bit more.

Zion, oh Zion...

This Saturday, we had a wonderful day exploring Zion Canyon. It was a fun day of hiking and enjoying our surroundings! Going during the off season has plenty of perks! Less people which also means less traffic. Less creepy crawly things to be paranoid about coming across, such as snakes and tarantulas! (gross!) As well as, depending on how you like it, better temperatures to deal with. Even though the trees were bare, the grass dull, and the river low, I think that Zion was just as beautiful in the winter as in the summer.

Can't wait to go again and explore some more! We think that it would be fun to do 'The Narrows' hike in late summer next year!

Day of Thanks

Our Thanksgiving was wonderful and of course a day full of thanks and delicious food. It was nice to be home and receive much needed one-on-one time with my Mom!

At the Parslow household, Thanksgiving is a small and simple celebration. The boys go out and enjoy 'Guy Time' which consists of shooting guns and driving around in foothills. While the boys are out of the way, the girls get to talk about EVERYTHING, make delicious food, and look through magazines for holiday decoration ideas. The food is the usual Thanksgiving feast along with my special appetizer. I have made these appetizers since I was eight (or sometime around then). The special treat is made with three main ingredients, sharp cheddar cheese, dill pickles, and black olives. Cut into small pieces and stack one of each onto a toothpick. Nothing to strenuous. I'm not sure how this tradition started. My guess is when I was younger and wanted to help with the feast, my Mom gave me this to stay out of her hair while she cooked the food. It's never a complete Thanksgiving without my treat!

Other highlights of our Thanksgiving trip include:
  • Watching 'Bolt' in a very old Theater in Richfield
  • TLC's 'What Not To Wear' Marathon (Oh, all those beautiful shoes!!)
  • Family Games and Wrestling...Adam vs KC, winner -KC
  • Homemade Pecan Pie

Highlights from the big fight!
